TANOM RACING LEADING TWO CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES AS TEAM GETS READY FOR DOS MARES

After the first two races of the 2016 Southern Baja Off Road Championship, TANOM Racing is leading in both Trophy Truck and Class 1.

“This is not going to be an easy championship to win for sure”, expressed Sandy Hall, after the great effort he did racing both Trophy Truck AND Class 1 back to back in the recent Tormenta del Desierto Short course. “There is some serious competition out there, and I am expecting it to be a fight for the podium this year for sure.

“Same goes for Class 1” added Andrea. “ This class has really grown here, with approximately a dozen really good and competitive cars, and all the drivers are great and really pushing the vehicles to their limit. It is a really an honor to be part of such a high class of drivers and vehicles.”

At this level of the game, everything counts. All the details, the best preparation possible and trying to foresee where problems could occur, all play a huge role in reaching the podium

“It is all about margins”, states Andrea. ”How much weight can you shave off the truck, how many seconds can you shave off each corner, how can you make your pit stop a little quicker yet look for anything that could cause you a longer delay three miles down the road… And really, we are very fortunate to have sponsors that represent the best components in the industry! Optima batteries, K&N Filters. Quaker State, BFGoodrich Tires, Simpson Race Products, Arnian Freight, Autometer, PCI Race radios, all help us keep those margins. And we are super excited about the Dos Mares, as it gives us the opportunity for one of our main sponsors to literally shine, Vision X lights! We have a new light set up for both the Trophy Truck and the Class 1, and are really excited about lighting up the night in this race!”

“The Dos Mares is really like a mini Baja 1000 for us”, continues Sandy. ”We are moving 10 support cars and almost 40 crew, so it really is like a mini army!”

If you are in the area, make sure that you join the fun of the Dos Mares 500, weekend of the 29th & 30th April 2016.
